More updates on life since my last post? Well.....I found a design prof who I think is the coolest prof I know! hehe Rather, I guess a good way to describe is that he's reaaaaally cute ;) He's like the kind-little-old-man and absent-minded professor type but cool nonetheless because he likes learning new things! The project I'll be working on involves LT Codes so if anyone has ever learned anything on LT Codes or Raptor Codes, please let me know because i have no idea what the man is talking about :)
The catch? I am now without a group. That's right. I ended up ditching 2 groups to do this project so...*sigh*...no idea what to do about that one now.
Also? If you'll remember, I was super excited to get a new house but I went to see a couple houses over the weekend and yeah, they just weren't as glamourous as I had hoped. I mean, they weren't bad but the previous tenants seemed a bit sketchy, rent was high, and not everyone was leaving so it leaves rooms here and there open but not together :( I told the landlord that we wanted an enclosed place like our old apt that no other part of the house could access; afterall, since I have no idea who the other 10-ish ppl in the house are, I would rather not have them have the opportunity to go through our stuff etc. I mean, I trust ppl but it would be nice to have one less worry here.
The landlord's solution was 1. he would give us the apt that takes 9 ppl (we currently have about 6-8 interested in housing) and build a door so that ppl can't get into our apt. Sounds cool right? Problem though. People needed the access so that they could get to the laundry room. Building that door means everyone else in the house will have to exit the house and enter through another door (or something to this) to do their laundry. I mean, seriously, if I were another tenant, I would hate that idea. Plus, the landlord would have to be moving the current ppl out of the 9-person apt (a couple are staying behind) and I don't want to have to deal with disgruntled ppl who have been moved out of their rooms and have to walk outside to do laundry. :( The other solution was to 2. live in his basement which he fashioned dormitory-style...Course...it's not really 'dorm' style as it is super-ghetto-Hong-Kong-in-the-'30s type of Chinese basement. Like...wow. Justin put it best when he said it looked like Hitler's last bunker (see image with Justin giving us all the ever-azn "V") :)
*sigh* hence...right now...in search of housing amongst other things in life :)
the COOL news is that I went to gradball on March 6 and here's my tiny spiel and pictures. To my illustrious housemates who excel in feeding me beer, haha yes, that is me taking in bacardi. *sigh*...i hope you're all happy!! :P
i hate you all ;-)
