So there's stuff I haven't shared with you all in its entirety... haha one good one that Jenn mentioned in a recent comment.
I've told a lot of you but irresponsibly didn't blog the fact that I'm now engaged!!! :D I'm ecstatic to have found the perfect man for me and I just don't think there are enough positive words to describe this guy. Rest assured that he takes care of me and is a waaay better cook than me and is so incredibly smart that it's intimidating sometimes (but my shrink says I've been handling my self-esteem levels well so after a few more weeks of therapy, I'll be ready to own a plant :-)). We haven't decided on where or when but I can assure you there will be a bride and a groom :)
Also of note is that I finally got to go to New York City (which I mentioned earlier). Huge thanks to Vay for putting me up for 3 nights and organizing some AWESOME tours. She personally took me around to see the sites alongside the best food in NYC. haha She seriously knows me well enough to know that food runs my life ;) No NYC trip is complete without seeing bits of Greenwich Village, Soho, Times Square, Central Park, Ground Zero, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, South Street Seaport, and the Empire State Building (super big thanks to Vay for making sure I didn't miss out!). I also got to eat at...
Cold Stone (amazing ice cream!),
Zen Palate (great vegan/vegetarian!),
Cafe Habana (sooo good. try the grilled corn and the fries...wow -- i could stay here forever on this food!)
Cafe Orlin (seriously good tiramisu)
Hagi Sake Bar (I might have this name wrong but you get some good authentic Japanese food here)
Serendipity's (if you've seen the movie and loved it, you need to go here. The wait is about 2-3 hours depending on when you come so tell the hostess you're there and then go out for lunch somewhere else. come back for a frozen hot chocolate afterwards ;))
Chat 'n' Chew (the best butternut squash soup I've ever had! Trust me, it's my favourite soup and I've tried a lot of soups in my day)
Dai Dong (Korean) Restaurant (good food and a nice atmosphere! A nice getaway from the rest of busy K-town)
Magnolia Bakery (this place is renowned and comes with line ups around the corner at any given time. the frosting really make the cupcakes here. the banana pudding is second to none with real bananas and vanilla wafer cake pieces. one note though, pay the extra dollar(ish) for the glass of milk; it's gold when you realize how much sugar is in the palm of your hands) ;)
Yaffa Cafe (another great place for desserts like wild strawberry cake. you also get great 'souvenirs'...haha but I'll save that story for Jon to tell another day)
Crif Dog (the place for post-drinking/hangover food. you have no idea how much you just need a hot dog in the middle of the night) :)
Okay, that's just sampling of the sites and food. Again, big thanks to Vayo and Jon for taking me around their city. haha I owe them big time! Pictures are here and limited due to my camera committing digital suicide 2 days into the trip :(
Last (but not least), big props to Anny for helping to organize a farewell get-together for me at Alice Fazooli's and Up Lounge! Thanks to all of 30(ish) of you that came out! I had a blast and whoever bought me the tartufo...haha you're awesome! Also big thanks to everyone that bought me drinks...lol. I was a little er...out of it at some point but hopefully i was still relatively lucid :) A couple pictures from the lounge are here. Again, thanks to Anny for her camera as mine broke in NYC :(
That's it for now :) Thanks guys!
