So if you live your life in a three piece suit,
In a cocktail dress, or combat boots
You pick your path and you walk your truth
And the world will come round to you.

Pop the cork, a champagne glass
Raise to the future, drink to the past
Thank the Lord for the friends he cast,
In the play he wrote for you.

Welp.

It happened.

I had everything we had to ask the supervisor online.

and the build is supposed to have wireless.

I go in. Sit down. Turn on laptop......CRAP! can't get a signal!

*sigh*

so much for the internet.

Has sourceforge let me down?

I wanted an easy-to-use calendaring tool like what Notes has built in or palm desktops...would it be smart to use a palm desktop environment? probably! but i decided to go to the internet nonetheless and hoped sourceforge would help me out.

Unfortunately, there was nothing as easy peasy as I wanted. sure, it would make sense that i would have to have my own database and or compile/build their source....but i was hoping for just a little open source executable! :( doh.

For now, google has semi done the trick with Akapa.com....let's see how well this works out for me...

course, i do foresee one big problem in the future...my life is now wholly dependent on the internet. From my courses (Forums) to my calendar and stuff...if anything goes offline, i'm going to be missing deadlines up the wazoo. :(

*sigh*....maybe this program isn't for me,eh? =)

I love the AGO...i'm still SOOO glad Joyce encouraged me to go! Not only did I see some amazing paintings by turner, whistler, and monet (a couple posters adorn my room now) but, I also got to see an exhibit I've subconsciously been dying to see for years: The Group of Seven. Props to harris and jackson and macdonald (my favourites) :)

Here's a sample of harris's work (not my favourite of his though)...

favourite flower of the week: white rose

I can't think of anything i don't like about white roses right now....I also like gerberas (thanks to joyce and her great taste in flowers).

*shrug* I don't know...somehow I just really like walking by the convenient store down the street and seeing the flowers. It'll really suck when winter comes and they can't keep them outside.

On another note, I got berated for going to Starbucks instead of Timmies today. *sigh* Time to get my coffee priorities straight...*sniff*...if only Timmies wasn't so far/crowded!

All right...5 min to class and i'm in the comp lab...why? because my stupid wireless isn't working in the library and i don't want to start asking the librarian right now as to why it won't work :( NARRR!!

That put aside, the day was so far okay...i woke up (grudgingly) and had nsci accompaniment to class this morning (i looked cool). Class was actually really good (i.e. i understood what was happening since I was keen and thought i would read the text sections relevant to the lecture yesterday).

Things to do today:
1. Design Project ish (need to set up some sys of comm for me and my design partners!)
2. GET WIRELESS
3. Class (oh ....riiight)
4. Buy Texts! (ARGH)

Last thing of note: i made my lunch today! lol -- I haven't done this in years so I'm damn proud. As for how edible or complex it was...well, it was a plain sammich...which reminds me, I owe Joycie bread since I've been eating her stash :)

Blah. And...I'm out!

Btw....it's weird to be back..but despite being a little scared, it's going okay so far. :)

lol -- being one in the crowd, i thought this was pretty damn funny. Our orientation director gave us this link from the "EyeOpener", Ryerson's student paper.

Oh, and he told us to feel free to leave comments too ...*grin*...
